A Des Moines man accused of making sexual comments to a minor while incarcerated in the Jasper County Jail has been sentenced to 30 days in jail. District Court Judge Nicholas Bailey has also fined 27-year-old Juan Devon Brown $430. Brown pleaded guilty to a reduced simple misdemeanor charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor to cause or encourage immoral conduct. He was originally facing a class B felony charge of sexual exploitation of a minor and a class D felony charge of grooming. 

The criminal complaint filed by the Jasper County Sheriff’s Department states Brown made the sexual comments between January 9th and 15th of this year, while talking to the 17-year-old victim via the jail’s video communication system.
