It’s the 20th ever appearance at the state tournament for the #4 in 3A Pella boys basketball team, and the Dutch begin what they hope is a full week in Des Moines against #6 Carroll.

The Dutch finished as runners-up in the Little Hawkeye Conference, and carry their 21-4 record into a matchup with a Tigers team that is 20-5 overall and placed 3rd in the Raccoon River Conference.

Pella knocked off Fairfield, Washington, and Keokuk in the substate bracket; Carroll defeated Perry and Saydel by wide margins before narrowly defeating Sioux Center 58-55 to advance to the final eight.

The two teams have not met in the Bound era. Live pregame coverage of Monday’s state tournament game for the Dutch begins at 11:45 a.m. on 92.1 KRLS.
