Fifth graders from the Indianola Community School District graduated from the D.A.R.E program last week. Indianola Police Officer Ross Marshall taught the program across ten different sessions. Officer Marshall says the program is always changing and has fluctuated in recent years to fit the modern generation.

“They have revamped it and changed it for the better. Instead of just learning about what drugs are and what they do, we learn more about how to make the right choices just in life. That way you’re not going to make choices into drugs. So, we learn about taking risks, good and bad risks and the consequences that come with that. Dealing with peer pressure and it’s all about choices is what it all kind of boils down to.”
