The Norwalk Community School District is continuing work on updates to its Teacher Leadership and Compensation (TLC) program.
District administrators provided the Norwalk School Board with an update on the next round of TLC roles during its most recent meeting. The program provides leadership opportunities for teachers while also supporting collaboration and instructional improvement across the district.
As part of the update, district leaders shared that the roles included in the new plan have been compared to positions used in previous versions of the program. Curriculum lead and collaboration lead positions were among the roles discussed as administrators continue refining how those positions will function moving forward.
Additional pieces of the TLC plan are still under development, including details surrounding evaluation processes and onboarding for those selected to serve in leadership roles. Norwalk district officials say hiring for the next round of TLC positions is expected to be completed by the end of March, with the final version of the updated plan targeted for completion by April 30.
