As part of a reciprocal exchange program, students from Pella Christian High School are currently in the Netherlands, staying with host families from Greijdanus High School of Zwolle, a municipality in Overijssel.
During the first portion of the program, 12 students from Greijdanus stayed with host families from Pella Christian in October. 12 Students from Pella Christian traveled to the Netherlands this past Thursday and will be there until March 27th. During their time abroad, the students will have the opportunity to enjoy different activities and to experience a different culture. Senior Sydney Bruxvoort said that after hosting one of the Greijdanus students, one of the things she was looking forward to most about the trip was trying different Dutch foods.
“I’m really excited to try all of the foods that she told me about, because every time I would show her something that we eat here, she would be like, ‘Oh, this is what we have’ or i took her to the Dutch bakeries, and she was like, ‘Oh, this is kind of similar, but it tastes a little bit different from in the Netherlands’. So, I’m excited to go see the Dutch bakeries and just see what they eat on a regular day.”
