On the same day the winter season ended at Pella High School, spring began at the annual Dickinson Relays, held at the University of Northern Iowa Monday.
Day one featured boys track and field athletes from around the state opening the new campaign, and a limited number of Dutch boys were in attendance. Top results for Pella included:
60 Meter Hurdles – Caiden Johnston – 6th (8.21); Grant Finken – 16th (8.6)
400 Meters – Nathaniel Ligman – 14th (53.46)
1600 Meters – Canaan Dunham – 3rd (4:15.92)
4×400 Meter Relay – Ligman, Stelpflug, Van Hauen, Dunham – 7th (3:38.75)
The Pella girls will open in Cedar Falls today before joining the Dutch boys Thursday at the IATC Indoor Championships at Iowa State University.
