The Indianola School Board approved a bid for the Whittier Elementary School playground project at their monthly meeting earlier this week. Turfs Etc. LLC is working on the project. Superintendent Tara Paul says they’ve gone through the Missouri-based company with another project within the district in the past.

“We received two bids and this one out of Lee’s Summit, Missouri is actually the one that did our courtyard at the new high school. They are pretty reputable and we are really happy with the product, and they came in as our low bid. That amount was $209,106. That was the lowest bid by roughly $50,000. To us, we have experience with them and they were the lowest bid, so that’s where our decision came from.”
