
While the season ended sooner than what anyone wanted, the Knoxville Boys Basketball Squad had yet another great year. The Panthers for the second straight season won 20 games, swept the South Central Conference and broke numerous scoring and defensive records. Knoxville averaged 74 points per game with ten of those games scoring at least 80 or more points with three of those games hitting 90 or better and one game breaking the century mark. Coach Joel Keady tells KNIA/KRLS Sports there was a lot of improvement from this year to last season.
Keady: “Broke some scoring records as a team, improved our team scoring and stayed the same from last year defensively. We even broke some game and season assist records throughout the season, so a lot of good improvement.”
The Panthers led class 3A in three point shots made with 244 and attempted with 625 and was second to MOC Floyd Valley, who the Panthers beat this season in percentage at 39%. Knoxville was also 3rd in class 3A in assists 429. Individually, Lincoln Norris led the entire state, regardless of class in three point shots made with 114 and Drake Larson was 2nd in the state in class 3A with 149 assists he also set the single game school record with 13 assists along with the season record and the career record. The Panthers finished up with a 20-4 record.
