
A Marshalltown man was sentenced up to 15 years in prison in Marion County District Court on Thursday.
Billy Bob James Versteegh pleaded guilty to possessing a firearm or offensive weapon by a felon as a habitual offender in which he received a prison sentence of up to 15 years with a mandatory minimum of three years. Versteegh also received a four year prison sentence last week in Jasper County District Court for a vehicle theft that happened in 2024. Versteegh’s Marion County sentence will run concurrently with the Jasper County case along with sentences in Clarke and Marshall Counties.
