A late-season winter storm is set to impact the area this afternoon into Monday morning. The National Weather Service has issued a Blizzard Warning for all of central Iowa from 1 p.m. Sunday until 7 a.m. on Monday. A high wind warning is also in place for most of that time.

Snow accumulations between 2 to 4 inches are expected, and as it falls, wind gusts up to 60 MPH are in the forecast. Widespread blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility and those hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning commute. Strong winds could cause tree damage and result in power outages.
