The Pella Christian girls track and field team has five returning seniors leading the way this season as they look to defend their Class 2A State Title from last spring.

Amaia Agre, Maisy Meinders, Lexi Terpstra, Meredith Van Wyk, and Bailey Vos have played a large role in the Eagles success over the last three years. The group began their careers by helping Pella Christian secure a fifth place finish at the State Meet as freshmen, before adding a runner-up finish as sophomores and the first girls State Championship last year as juniors. Head Coach Keith Anderson says that five girls have continued to be consistent leaders throughout their time in the program, and that they have continued that trend early in their senior year.

“You just know what you’re getting with every one of those girls. They come in every day and they work hard, they have a good time, and they’ve been really great about encouraging the underclassmen. So, I really like how they’re coming together as a team and as seniors to show that leadership.”

After a fourth place finish in their only indoor meet of the season at the IATC Indoor Championships, the Eagle girls will now turn their attention to the outdoor season, which begins with the Davis County Relays in Bloomfield on Tuesday, March 31st at 4:30 pm.
