Those with travel plans are reminded that it could take some time for state, county, and city plow operations to clear roads today. Wind gusts up to 40 MPH remain possible through midday, and any snow on the ground will continue to likely blow back onto roads for some time. Those who do have to hit the roads should use extreme caution, especially as wind chills drop well below zero and ice that came from yesterday’s rain remains on many highways and roads. Conditions could improve by later today, but another round of bitter cold is expected to settle in overnight, according to the National Weather Service. Conditions should improve significantly throughout the day Tuesday.
