The Pleasantville Community School District has appointed Grundmeyer Leader Services to support the search for a new superintendent.

The search will begin immediately and conclude with the successful hire of a new leader. The district is currently requesting feedback for desired qualifications to ensure the new hire is a good fit for the school and community. A survey is available to share narrative insights and rank personal and professional priorities. The input gathered will be reviewed by the Board and the priorities shared by community stakeholders will guide the search and help the Board finalize exactly what they want in their next superintendent. Current Superintendent Tony Aylsworth who has accepted a job with Southeast Polk says the school board will put together a transition plan for when he leaves at the end of June and when a new superintendent comes in.

“There will be a bunch of milestones along the way regardless of who they hire or what format it looks like where there will be some onboarding, and meetings, and a lot of phone conversations with them just as I’m doing with Southeast Polk on the other side. It will be about their next superintendent making some time to be here, be visible, be present, and certainty work with Robert and our principles and admin team and the board on a transition plan. I’ve already committed to the board that I would be happy to be involved as much or as little as they want me to be with that.”

The survey will close March 29th and a link to complete it can be found here. Grundmeyer recently helped facilitate the Pella Superintendent search and an assessment of Knoxville Schools leadership.
