Four roads are included in the 2026 edition of the Knoxville Street Improvements Project.

The city conducts an annual street improvement project on streets outlined in its pavement management study. The streets included in the 2026 project are East Competine, West Marion, South Roche, and West Grand View. The council received five bids for the project and, at their council meeting on March 2nd, approved the bid from TK Concrete for just over $690,000. At Monday’s meeting, the council approved setting a date for the bond sale to fund the project for the next two years, along with the new public safety/city hall building.

Work on the project is expected to start in April, and City Manager Heather Ussery says property owners will be notified when work is expected to start near them.

“It’s usually up to the contractor which road they start on, but those property owners that are impacted as part of the project are notified at least a week in advance before that road gets shut down for construction.”

Updates on the project once construction starts can be found on the City website here
