It was a taste of what’s to come outside for the Pella boys as temperatures in the mid-70s prompted the Central Track and Field program to move its indoor high school meet outside to Ron and Joyce Schipper Stadium on Friday.
The Dutch from Pella High School had a handful of athletes still home and ready to compete during Spring Break. Some top three finishes for the Dutch:
100 Meters – Landen Pleima 3rd (11.44)
110 Hurdles – Caiden Johnson 1st (14.64); Ben O’ Halloran 2nd (15.87), Grant Finken 3rd (16.12)
400 Meters – Canaan Dunham 2nd (51.48)
Long Jump – Emmanuel Diers 1st (6.47 m); Owen Kettler 2nd (6.41 m)
4×100 Relay – 2nd – 42.99 – Kettler, Johnson, Tallman, Pleima
4×400 Relay – 1st – 3:36.27 – Paulsen, Van Hauen, Gaulke, Dunham
Pella’s girls will get to outside in even warmer air at Central College today. Racing begins at 11:30.
