With a growth in numbers this season, the Pella Christian girls soccer team is excited about the potential they have for the upcoming season.
The Eagles, who went 8-7 a year ago, saw participation in the sport rise to 36 athletes this year, which is up from 21 last spring. Head coach Matt Dowie says that he is thrilled to see the growth in the roster, and for the possibilities the rise in numbers present for the program. Dowie adds that while there are varying degrees of experience within the roster, he’s excited by the potential they have.
“We’ve got a large freshman class that have experience playing soccer in some fashion, whether it’s club or just kind of rec stuff growing up, but a lot of comfortability with soccer and understanding the game. So, it’ll be a lot of fun.”
The Pella Christian girls soccer team kicks-off the season on April 3rd at home against Albia at 1 pm.
