This is KayLea Marchant’s final week as the Executive Director of the Greater Newton Area Chamber of Commerce. Marchant is resigning, and this Friday, March 27th, will be her final day. She has been the Chamber’s Executive Director since May 20, 2024.
Carson Claypool, Chair of the Greater Newton Area Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors, says they are grateful for the time, leadership, and dedication Marchant has given to the Chamber and the local business community. During her time with the organization, Claypool says Marchant helped guide several meaningful initiatives that strengthened the Chamber and its connection to the community. Those initiatives, according to the Newton Chamber Board Chair, include launching Shop Newton 365, a brand-new Chamber website, and the all-encompassing Community & Membership Guide. He notes she also helped lead the relocation and renovation of the Chamber’s new office space on the second floor of the Newton National Bank Building, which is on the northeast corner of Newton’s square.
Following KayLea’s announcement, the Board of Directors has selected Ella White to be the new Chamber Executive Director. White is a Newton native who has been with the Chamber since October, and Claypool says she has already built strong relationships with the Chamber’s members and partners.
