
The Knoxville Girls Track and Field Squad ran its 2nd meet of the new season on Tuesday at the Simpson High School Classic. The Panthers placed 12th scoring 13 points in which Coach Michael Splavec said was very impressive with the competition his team faced. Some of the highlights of the night was Mary Visser placing 9th in the 200 in a time of :28.08 while Knoxville had two top ten finishes in the discus with Jayde Kreimeyer placing 4th with a throw of 91 feet seven inches and Avery Pelong was 8th with a throw of 91 feet seven inches. Pelong also placed 7th in the shot put with a toss of 32 feet eight inches. In the relays, the Sprint Medley team of Addy Dunkin, Siena Scott, Abbie Keitges and Visser ran a time of 2:01.60 good enough for 7th. Splavec also noted the 4×100 and the 4×400 teams had good times and looked good early on. Knoxville will have a few days off until its next meet which is next Thursday at Clarke.
