A Newton man accused of having sexual contact with an underage girl awaits sentencing on a class C felony charge of lascivious acts with a child. District Court Judge Nicholas Bailey accepted Manuel Lee Weeks’ guilty plea Monday, and set a sentencing hearing for May 11th. 

Newton Police arrested Weeks on December 21st of last year. On December 20th, 2025,, Newton officers allege Weeks touched the victim in a sexual way while she was attending a sleepover with other girls at a residence in southeast Newton. The police said Weeks had been staying at the residence for just under a month. The 60-year-old Newton man was also facing an aggravated misdemeanor charge for lascivious acts with a minor, and a serious misdemeanor offense of assault with intent to commit sexual abuse.
