The annual Knoxville Federated Garden Club Garden Gala fundraiser will take place on April 11th.

The 23rd annual event will be held at Dyer Hudson Hall on the Marion County Fairgrounds and registration for the event is due today. The fundraiser for the garden club is made up of a dedicated group of volunteers who maintain and preserve the Bessie Spaur Butterfly Garden. The group has made many enhancements to the area just over the last two years. Bev Grimes with the garden club tells KNIA/KRLS that this event is a great way to kick off the gardening season while supporting the work done at the Bessie Spaur Butterfly Garden.

“You would really be surprised at how many people who live right here in Knoxville don’t even know the butterfly garden is out there, so if you’ve never been, make sure you go.”

The Garden Gala will start at 8:00 am and will include three speakers, shopping, lunch and door prizes. The registration fee is $45 and for more information about the speakers or to register for the event, visit the garden club on Facebook here.
