book-swap-2

The Newton Public Library’s annual Spring Book Swap is underway. As of today, gently used books can be dropped off at the library in return for a ticket that can be swapped for someone else’s used book on Monday, April 6th. Public Services Librarian Becca Klein says this bi-annual event has attracted over 100 participants at times in recent years.

“We do two book swaps and sales each year. One in the fall and one in the spring. Nearly all the books come from community donations.”

The deadline to drop off your used books is Saturday, April 4th. Participants can then bring their ticket or tickets back to the Newton Public Library on Monday, April 6th between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m. to pick out new books from the swap to take home. Klein says donated books should be in good condition, clean, and gently used. Dirty and water-damaged books will not be accepted, and there is a limit of 15 tickets per person.
