The Indianola City Council authorized the ninth amendment for the Hillcrest Unified Urban Renewal Plan at their final meeting of the month earlier this week. The amendment will fund multiple areas across the city. Indianola City Manager Jake Meske says the amendment would make room for some additional allowable expenses.
“Those expenses would be about $2,500,000 for investment into the Indianola Wellness Campus. This would be to make some larger capital investments into replacing our HVAC units and some other higher level maintenance needs that are associated with that facility as it continues to age a bit. It also creates some funds for a storm water project down 14th Avenue, and then it does create some funds for connecting the trail around the North/South side in front of 65/69. It is kind of in front of the Credit Union there, so just some improvements generally to that area.”
