We are a little over two weeks away from the season opener at the Knoxville Raceway and for one driver 2026 brings a chance to finally race for the 410 title. Carson McCarl finished third in the 410 standings last season using his own equipment. Not only that he was his own crew chief and along with his wife Peyton, and usually his own crew. But this season, McCarl is set to drive for T-K-S Motorsports and Tony Renfro. McCarl tells KNIA/KRLS Sports to have a full crew is one thing he will not have to worry about this year.

McCarl: “That’s why joining this crew for Knoxville and getting a real crew under me. Sometimes you have guys who can watch the track and tell you what you’re feeling and just having a real crew is a game changer for me.”

McCarl announced he was running with Renfro during the raceway awards banquet back in November. He will still run the 360s in the Verville car and a few select 410 shows in his own equipment when time allows. The Knoxville Raceway season is set to begin on April 18th with the 73rd season opener with free admission. KNIA will have live flag-to-flag coverage of all sprint car events this season at the Knoxville Raceway.
