The new executive director of the Greater Newton Area Chamber of Commerce says she wants to support Newton the best she can. Ella White took over the job this week from Kaylea Marchant, who resigned effective as of last Friday. White had been working as Marchant’s assistant, and is grateful for the opportunity to lead the Chamber of Commerce.
“I look forward to supporting Newton however I can, growing and making this a better place. Somewhere where people want to live and come, and have exciting events happen around town. All that fun stuff.”
White is a Newton High School alumna from the Class of 2022, who graduated from the University of Iowa last year with a Business Management and Leadership Degree. While she was in high school, she interned with Erin Yeager at Newton Main Street. White says she’s thankful to be able to give back to the community that has given her so much.
