Newton City Offices will be closed on Friday in observance of Good Friday. The Newton City Landfill will also be closed this Friday, but the Easter weekend will not impact access to the Newton Public Library. The library will continue with its normal hours, which are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, and closed on Sunday.

Jasper County Offices will also be closed for Good Friday, and return to normal operating hours on Monday. 

The City of Newton’s Utility Billing Office will also be closed on April 8th and 9th for staff training. Residents are encouraged to plan ahead and use online payment and account services during the closure.
