It was a clean sweep for the Pella High girls and boys track and field teams, as the Dutch took both team titles at the Little Hawkeye Conference meet Monday night, hosted by Pella Christian. It was an ideal night for track and field, and the performances showed it, with a total of five conference meet records falling by the end of the night.

Among those recording-breaking performances were the Pella High girls Shuttle Hurdle Relay team, the Pella High boys 4×800 Meter Relay Team, Zach Buchheit of Pella High in the 3200 Meter Run and Knoxville’s Ryan Douglas in the 400 Meter hurdles.

The Lady Dutch were head and shoulders above the rest in the girls’ team standings, scoring 183 points – 95 ahead of second place Norwalk. The Pella Christian girls placed fourth with 83 points, just a point-and-a-half behind Newton; and the Knoxville girls took seventh with 16 points.

The boys’ standings featured a predominant duel between Pella High and Knoxville all night, with the Little Dutch finishing at 153 points and the Panthers tallying 137. The Pella Christian boys placed seventh with 25 points.
