With school out for summer and the track season recently completed, renovation at the Randy Wilson Track is now underway in Knoxville. The front stretch had already been dug up as of Wednesday morning. Athletic Director Randy Wilson says the track had several areas where the black top under the surface had completely worn away. The original track was built around 30 years ago, meaning it reached its expected lifespan. The new track is being completed by Norris Asphalt of Ottumwa for just over $570,000. Superintendent Dr. Randy Flack adds that the lifespan of the new track should be at least 30 years as well.
