The elections are Tuesday night, and at the top of the ballot is the choice between President Barack Obama and Governor Mitt Romney, but how does the Presidential Election impact more local elections? Central College Political Science Professor Andrew Greene says the Presidential vote holds more sway over down ticket elections in Iowa than other states, because Iowa has a straight ticket option. If an Independent voter decides on Mitt Romney for their vote, in Iowa they are more likely to choose the quick straight ticket option than in states without that choice, and the same goes for the Democratic side.
