The Knoxville Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance. As KNIA/KRLS first reported Monday, a nineteen year old Knoxville man faces two class C felony charges related to sex with a fifteen year old girl. Lt. Aaron Fuller with the Knoxville Police department says that at some yet to be determined time in mid-February Jake Smith allegedly engaged in a sex act with the girl, while a friend videotaped it.  Subsequent to the filming, the video was distributed to others with Smith’s knowledge, but not to the knowledge of the victim.  The charges are sex abuse in the third degree, and exploitation of a minor.

The PD first learned about the video after a female friend of Smith allegedly assaulted the victim, after receiving a copy of the video. Additional charges are pending against Smith and other involved individuals.

The Police Department asks that anyone who was sent a copy of the video to bring it to them so it can be destroyed. Not reporting receipt of the video could result in possession of child pornography charges.
