Two constructions bids on the West Elementary expansion and renovation project were approved by the Knoxville School Board Monday.
Superintendent Cassi Murra says the board was pleased with the bid contracts. She says the earthwork package was given to K E Flatwork out of Eldridge, IA, and the foundations package went to Christner Construction Inc. from Ottumwa, IA.
Murra adds the bids were so competitive that they are currently under budget for the project by a significant amount. She attributes timing on the project and the time of year they’re looking to get work done as factors in receiving such competitive bids.
