Community members packed Pella High School’s gym for the vocal department’s annual showcase this past weekend.

Various high school choirs and soloists performed popular music in the annual Cabaret shows in front of sold out crowds Friday and Saturday night at Pella High School.

Vocal Music Director Michelle Chaplin told KNIA/KRLS News the students focused mostly on popular music as opposed to more traditional selections.

A special moment came near the end of Saturday’s performance, as the crowd gave the Pella Lady Dutch basketball team a standing ovation as they arrived at the school following the championship game.
