Alumni of the Pella High basketball program are being asked to participate in the first annual Pinky Swear Holiday Classic on Friday, December 30th.

Pinky Swear is an organization that provides money for non-medical expenses for families of children suffering from cancer. Pella boys basketball coach Mark Core’s wife, Mary, works for the organization and is coordinating this event to raise money and awareness about Pinky Swear.

Mark Core says that they are looking for any alumni, both from the Little Dutch and Lady Dutch, that would like to lace up the sneakers one more time.

“We’re still welcoming team members. We have 13 people signed up and we really don’t have a limit. We’d like to have as many people as possible because we feel like if a player shows up, he’s likely or she’s likely to bring family and friends with.”

If you’re a Pella basketball alum, and would like to play in the game, contact Mark Core via email at Mark.Core@Pella.k12.ia.us.

The game will start at 6:00 on Friday night, December 30th. Tickets will cost five dollars each, with all proceeds going to Pinky Swear. There will also be concessions and Pinky Swear swag available to raise money for the organization.
