A Pella man and three other Iowans were killed when a plane went down in southern Illinois on New Year’s Eve.

Johnson County Coroner David Rockwell confirms to KNIA/KRLS News that Curt Terpstra, 34, of Pella, as well as 37-year-old Krista Green, 35-year-old Jordan Linder and 26-year-old Jasmine Linder, all from Iowa, died in Saturday night’s crash near Vienna, Illinois.

The Federal Aviation Administration registration database shows the Piper PA28 aircraft involved in the crash was registered to Terpstra. The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating.
