The Knoxville Chamber of Commerce met in regular session Wednesday.

Following a closed session discussion at the end of the meeting, current Acting Chamber President and 2018 incoming President Rick Kingery resigned, effective immediately, stating a need to focus on other commitments. The board voted to accept his resignation. Per Chamber by-laws, with the absence of a President and Vice President, the serving past president assumes the role of President of the Board until the next election. Past President Ben Butler will fill the position of Acting Chamber President for the remainder of 2017.

The board thanked Kingery for his years of service to the Chamber. With the resignation of Kingery, the Chamber board currently has four vacant positions. Any resident interested in
joining the Chamber board for the remainder of the year can email or call the Chamber office.
