The Pella Children’s Choir is gearing up for their annual season.
Director Joe Tangen tells KNIA/KRLS News any child turning eight years old this academic year through sixth grade in the community is welcome to join.
“There isn’t a choral experience in the community schools until sixth grade, as in being a choir, and this is just a kick start to be able to do this,” he says.
Tangen says the Pella Children’s’ Choir aims to educate children about performing in a chorus, with performances scheduled throughout the year.
A pair of informational meetings will be held on September 5th and September 7th from 6 to 6:30 p.m. at Second Reformed Church for parents interested in having their child participate. The Pella Children’s Choir is an outreach group of the Iowa Youth Chorus, and funded by the Maytag Family Foundation.
