The Knoxville Rotary Club will mark its progress toward a polio-free world, while urging community support at their End Polio Now fundraising event.

They are inviting residents to the Grill and Still on Tuesday, October 24th from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. A meal will be served for $20 per person ,with $10 from each meal being donated to End Polio Now. Since Rotary and its partners launched the Global Polio Eradication Initiative nearly 30 years ago, the incidence of polio has plummeted by more than 99.9 percent, from about 350,000 cases a year to just 37 cases in 2016. Rotary has committed to raising $50 million per year over the next three years in support of global polio eradication efforts. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation will match Rotary’s commitment by a two to one ratio. Rotary has contributed more than $1.7 billion to ending polio since 1985.
