Beekeeping classes will be available at the Iowa State Extension office in Knoxville soon.
Beekeepers Sheila and Jerry Weldon will share their knowledge in classes beginning Thursday, January 12 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and continuing each Thursday night for seven weeks. The Weldons tells KNIA/KRLS News keeping bees in an exciting and rewarding hobby that also benefits the environment. Honey, queens and bees can all be sold for a profit and bees pollinate flowering and fruit bearing plants. The cost for the class is $45 per individual, couple or family and includes books and other materials needed to get started.
