The Knoxville raceway will get a new concessions vendor this next race season.

Kirsti Peterson and husband Nick Peterson owners of Checkered Flag Concessions will be taking over the stands as long time manager Coleen Lathem will retire after more than 40 years working the track, with the last 25 being the concessions manager. Kirsti tells KNIA/KRLS News she wants the people of Knoxville to know the same food they have come to expect at the raceway will still be there as well as some new additions to better support the racers, families and all attendees. The Petersons considered Knoxville their happy place and look forward to working every weekend here.
