The final day of the 2018 Iowa High School State Wrestling Tournament is today.
Twelve area wrestlers made the trip to Des Moines Thursday and after two intense days of wrestling only five remain. P-C-M’s Lucas Roland will wrestle for a state championship in the class 2A 170 pound weight class tonight at Wells Fargo Arena. Roland beat Paul Ryan of Mount Vernon 8-5 Friday to put himself into the finals. Roland will take on Kolton Bartow of Dubuque Wahlert for the championship tonight. Three other wrestlers are still in the running for a podium finish as P-C-M’s 138 pound grappler Colby Tool will take on Matthew Doyle of Independence in a consolation semi-final, P-C-M’s Wes Cummings will battle Zach Williams of Osage in a 160 pound 2A consolation semi-final and Pleasantville’s Chaz Clark will take on Monte Pottebaum of West Lyon in a seventh place match at 220 pounds in class 1A.
