PCM hosted their only home cross country meet of the year Thursday evening at the Gateway Golf Course in Monroe. The Mustangs were joined by a few other local schools from the area.
On the girls side, Des Moines Roosevelt was the meet champion with 28 team points. PCM finished fifth with a score of 140. Twin Cedars and Knoxville were right behind in sixth and seventh, with 157 and 165 points, respectively.
Knoxville’s Norah Pearson was the individual runner-up, finishing in a time of 20:10. Right behind her in third was Rylee Dunkin of Twin Cedars with a time of 20:23. PCM had a top-10 finisher as Paige Steenhoek finished eighth with a time of 21:24. Pella Christian did not post a team score as they only had three runners, but Annaliese Admiraal was the Eagles’ top finisher with a time of 22:40, good for 18th place.
Des Moines Christian was the boys team champion with a score of 18. Knoxville was third with 75, Pella Christian was fourth with 133, and PCM finished fifth with a score of 139.
Knoxville’s Jordan Bacon was the area’s top finisher, placing seventh with a time of 19:10. Daniel Mora Demestri was the top finisher for Pella Christian, finishing in 19:16, good for 10th place. Two seconds behind in 11th place was Beau Webb of PCM.
All of these teams will be back in action at Knoxville’s home meet on Tuesday at Pine Knolls Country Club in Knoxville.
