The fourth and final member of the Knoxville High School Athletic Hall of Fame class of 2020 is Elizabeth (Haning) Hadler. She is one of Knoxville’s most decorated athletes as a standout in four sports, earning All-Conference honors in each. She also earned All-State volleyball and was a state place winner in tennis. After high school she continued her athletic career at the University of Missouri-Rolla where she was a four year letter winner in basketball three year all-conference performer in tennis, and a three year letter winner in cross country. Hall of Fame Selection Committee Member Joe Cunningham says Haning-Hadler ran cross country in college just to stay in shape for basketball and found success in that sport as well.

Cunningham:
“Tells you a little but about her athleticism she decided to run cross country in college to, like you said stay in shape, and she’s their number two and three runner. She lives in Ohio now and it’ll be fun to have her back, just wonderful stories about Elizabeth.”

She was inducted into the University of Missouri-Rolla’s Hall of Fame in 2004.
