The Indianola Community School District will have to turn in a Return to Learn plan to the Iowa Department of Education in July, giving the district guidelines on how to provide as normal an education as possible once the 2020/21 school year begins. Superintendent Art Sathoff tells KNIA News it is one of the main things the district is focusing on right now.
“There is a tremendous amount of planning on and there are all different teams within that have leaders from the administration and teachers doing the planning focusing on academics, social and emotional behavioral health, infrastructure, equity, data, and then the state has a special state team that will help us with special education as well.”
Sathoff also said the district is working as hard as it can to make sure students, teachers, and staff will be as safe as possible when they return to school.
