A Knoxville woman faces felony charges after being arrested Saturday. Shortly after 9:00 a.m., a Marion County deputy responded to the east Casey’s in Knoxville for the report of a suspicious vehicle with an occupant sleeping in the driver’s seat. The occupant was identified as 44-year-old Brandee Karpan.

Upon a consent search, the deputy located two dosage units of various prescription drugs that were prescribed to someone else. Karpan was taken to the Marion County Jail.

Upon entering the jail, it was discovered that Karpan was in possession of methamphetamine and a smoking pipe.

Karpan is charged with illegal possession of prescription drugs and possession of contraband in a correctional facility, which is a Class D felony. Karpan was released on her own recognizance, with a preliminary hearing set for December 16th.
