Norwalk’s Tuesday night baseball and softball games were both suspended by thunderstorms in the early innings, bringing an end to the regular season for both squads.

The Warrior baseball team led ADM 3-0 in the middle of the second inning in Norwalk when play was halted. Norwalk finishes the regular season 18-17 overall and will open Class 4A Substate play at Des Moines Roosevelt Friday at 5:00 p.m. The two teams split a doubleheader back on May 26.

In a softball matchup of Class 4A top-five teams in Carlisle, fourth-ranked Norwalk and fifth-ranked Carlisle were rained out following two scoreless innings. Norwalk’s Kady Vandemark and Addi Downe had the only hits of the game for either side.

The Warriors finish regular season play at 27-7 and will host Cedar Rapids Xavier or Newton in a 4A regional semifinal Saturday night at 7:00 p.m.
