Indianola athlete Vicki Andrews, who bowls for the Des Moines Lincoln Railsplitters Girls Bowling Team, earned a class 3A individual state championship in Waterloo Monday, sweeping the bracket stage to get the top finish.

Andrews, seeded 2nd in the individual bracket, faced her toughest test in the opening tilt, as she pulled through by four pins 248-244. Andrews then advanced to the semifinals and won easily with a 234-178 win, then matched up with top seeded Jaquelyn Hochrein from Dubuque Senior, and again won in blowout fashion winning 245-193.

Andrews, a sophomore, finished in third place last year as a freshman. Find full results below.
