While much of the region remains in drought, a fairly active August weather pattern is expected to bring more precipitation to the region today. According to the National Weather Service, many rain gauges could see an additional 1/2″ to inch of rainfall by Monday morning. Depending on the track of some thunderstorms, rainfall could top two inches or more. This comes after many locations have received some needed rainfall over the past week. A cooler than normal trend is expected to continue for the next week, with afternoon highs in the upper 70s and low 80s.
