For the first time since 2013, the Knoxville Raceway will hold motorcycle races. The Knoxville Flat Track Motorcycle Nationals is tonight and fans that are used to the sprint cars will see a similar program of heat races, a dash and a main event in all classes. However Co-promoter Julie Dollansky tells KNIA/KRLS Sports unlike the sprint cars the motorcycles will begin each race with a standing start.

Dollansky: “The only difference is the bike racing starts on a line instead of a rolling start. If anyone starts early they get put back a line, and they wait until the green flag drops and then whoever gets to the first turn first on a hole shot is the one leading.”

Gates are scheduled to open at 6:00 with racing at 7:00. Tickets will be available at the gate for $20.
