
The Melcher-Dallas Girls Basketball Squad defeated Cardinal on Thursday night 67-41. Addi Wadle scored 23 points to pace the Saints, but Kesley Reed was key, scoring 15 points, going 11/12 from the line. Gabby Overgaard scored nine points and Madi DeJong had eight. Coach Kelsey Goff told KNIA Sports it was a good team win. The boys were not as fortunate as they fell to the Comets 69-43. Coach Matt Bennett told KNIA Sports it was close in the first half, but his team went cold and Cardinal heated up. Reece Chiabotta led the scoring with 12 points and Drew Heaberlin scored 11. The Saints, will travel to Des Moines on Tuesday to play Wayne at Wells Fargo Arena.
The Southeast Warren/Melcher-Dallas Boys Wrestling Squad split two matches at Nodaway Valley on Thursday. The Warhawks beat Baxter 57-12 with Trace Mann, Sawyer Lovell, and Spencer Lovell all picking up wins. In match two, Southeast Warren/Melcher-Dallas fell to the host Wolverines 53-30. Both of the Lovells won their matches to finish up 2-0 on the night. Southeast Warren/Melcher-Dallas will head to the East Union Duals on Saturday.
