The Newton girls bowling team took third place with a score of 2257 at the Two Rivers Conference meet at Statesmen Lanes in Oskaloosa Friday. The Cardinals’ Gabbie Humphrey had a career high 634 series, which was enough to be crownedTwo Rivers Conference Champion by 40 pins over second place, and to earn 1st Team All Conference honors. Aeris Archer and Mackenna Burns were also All-Conference Honorable Mention for Newton, with Archer placing 10th with a 465 series and Burns’ taking 24th with 408 series. Kelly Holmes had a 435 series for the Cardinals and finished 16th. The Newton girls bowling team is back in action on Monday, hosting the Girls State Qualifying meet at Cardinal Lanes.
