The Knoxville Community School District will continue to receive approximately $900,000 in Physical Plant and Equipment Levy (PPEL) funds annually after a special election held Tuesday.

Voters elected to renew the levy Tuesday night for ongoing revenue used to maintain and improve school facilities, upgrade technology and support transportation needs.

“We’re grateful to our community for recognizing the importance of PPEL and voting to continue this necessary funding,” said Superintendent Cassi Pearson. “This support ensures we can maintain safe, modern and effective learning spaces for our students.” The PPEL has been in place for decades, and its renewal allows the district to maintain long-term planning for facility upkeep, safety improvements and equipment purchases.
